Rajkot: KL Rahul showcased his batting prowess with a determined 112 runs, guiding India to a solid total of 284 for seven in the second ODI against New Zealand on a sluggish pitch this Wednesday.


After being asked to bat first, India began confidently, with Rohit Sharma contributing 24 runs and captain Shubhman Gill scoring 56, forming a 70-run partnership for the opening wicket. However, the New Zealand spinners regained control during the middle overs with their disciplined bowling.


Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja made contributions of 23 and 27 runs, respectively, but neither could convert their starts into significant scores. Nitish Kumar Reddy added a quick 20 runs off 21 balls.
