SRH's Struggles in the IPL 2026 Eliminator

Kavya Maran, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), expressed her disappointment following her team's batting failure in the IPL 2026 Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on May 27.

Facing a daunting target of 244 runs set by RR, SRH struggled significantly, losing crucial wickets early in their innings. Key players such as Abhishek Sharma (0), Travis Head (17), Heinrich Klaasen (18), and Ishan Kishan (33) contributed to a dismal start, leaving the team at 81/5 within just 6.5 overs.

At that point, SRH required 163 runs from 79 balls, needing to maintain a run rate of 12.38 per over to achieve the highest target ever set for an IPL Eliminator.

The End of SRH's IPL 2026 Journey

Sunrisers Hyderabad's campaign in IPL 2026 concluded with a 47-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals. Chasing a target of 244, SRH was all out for 196 in 19.2 overs, falling short by 48 runs.

Despite a 56-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Nitish Kumar Reddy (38) and Salil Arora (35), the team's efforts were insufficient as they lost their last four wickets for just 59 runs.

Jofra Archer led the bowling for RR with impressive figures of 3/58, while Nandra Burger, Sushant Mishra, and Ravindra Jadeja each took two wickets, showcasing a strong team performance that halted SRH's chase.

Rajasthan Royals will now advance to face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2, aiming for a spot in the final against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
