New Delhi, July 13: Renowned British tennis player Katie Boulter and her fiancé, Australian pro Alex de Minaur, have exchanged vows in a private church ceremony.
The couple chose to marry during the Wimbledon finals, where both faced early exits from the tournament this year.
As reported by a leading media outlet, the wedding was attended by a select group of family members, coinciding with the men's final match featuring reigning champion Jannik Sinner from Italy and Germany's Alexander Zverev.
The ceremony took place in a Grade II-listed church located in Old Woodhouse, Leicestershire, close to the village where Katie spent her childhood.
Katie has held the title of Britain's top female player for much of the last five years and currently ranks second, while De Minaur is Australia's leading player, positioned sixth in the world rankings.
After nearly five years of dating, the couple shared their engagement news on social media in December 2024. Boulter posted a selfie showcasing her engagement ring, stating, "We’ve been keeping a small secret."
Their engagement followed a successful 2024 season, with Boulter breaking into the Top 25 of the WTA Rankings for the first time and De Minaur achieving a spot in the ATP's Top 10, both attributing their successes to each other.
Notably, they celebrated victories on the same weekend, with De Minaur winning in Acapulco for the second consecutive year, and then traveling to San Diego to witness Boulter claim her first WTA 500 title.
In June, they again celebrated simultaneous victories, with De Minaur triumphing in 's-Hertogenbosch and Boulter winning on home turf in Nottingham.
