Kapil Dev Rates Ravindra Jadeja Higher Than Ben Stokes as All-Rounder
Kapil Dev's Take on All-Rounders
Kapil Dev, the iconic captain who led India to World Cup victory, expressed his belief that Ravindra Jadeja surpasses England's Ben Stokes as an all-rounder. He stated, "While Ben Stokes is indeed a talented all-rounder, I maintain that Ravindra Jadeja is superior."
"Jadeja's performance continues to outshine Stokes, in my opinion," he added.
Ben Stokes Reaches 7000 Test Runs
In a remarkable display, England's captain Ben Stokes celebrated reaching 7000 Test runs during the fourth day of the Manchester Test against India. Stokes has accumulated 7,032 runs across 115 Test matches, boasting an average of 35.69, which includes 14 centuries and 35 fifties over 206 innings, with a top score of 258.
He has now joined an elite group of only three all-rounders in Test cricket history to achieve the milestone of 7000 runs and 200 wickets, alongside legends Sir Garfield Sobers and Jacques Kallis, as reported by the ICC.
Jadeja's Performance in the Series
In the ongoing series, Jadeja stands as the seventh-highest run-scorer, amassing 347 runs in seven innings at an impressive average of 86.75, including a top score of 89 and four half-centuries. However, his bowling has not been as impactful, with only seven wickets taken at an average of 67.71.
Jadeja's prowess shines brightest in Test matches, where he has scored 3,697 runs in 83 Tests, featuring four centuries and 26 fifties, with a personal best of 175*. He has also claimed 326 wickets in this format.
