Kagiso Rabada, the South African fast bowler, has been officially ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. He is now under pressure to recover in time for the Test series that starts on October 9. This information was reported by a sports news outlet.

The ODI matches are scheduled to begin on September 24 in Durban, with the final match taking place on September 30 in Potchefstroom. Rabada suffered a hamstring injury over a week ago and has less than six weeks to regain full fitness before the first Test of a busy home season, which includes eight Tests.

Details on Rabada's Condition

As per the report, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has not disclosed the exact nature of Rabada's injury but confirmed that he will be unavailable for at least the next four and a half weeks. He is also excluded from the current T20I squad that is touring Namibia for a tri-series and three ODIs.

CSA's Statement on Rabada's Rehabilitation

"Kagiso Rabada is currently undergoing the initial phases of his rehabilitation for a right hamstring injury, closely monitored by the Cricket South Africa medical team," CSA stated, as reported by the sports news outlet.

They further mentioned that Rabada's participation in the Test series will hinge on his recovery progress. "He will miss the three-match ODI series against Australia, scheduled from September 24 to 30. His availability for the Test series will depend on his rehabilitation progress, with a selection decision to be made closer to the series date," CSA added.

South Africa's Performance in Namibia

In the ongoing tri-series in Namibia, South Africa made a strong comeback after their initial defeat against Namibia, securing a convincing seven-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in Windhoek on Saturday. Zimbabwe managed to score 144/8, thanks to a solid start from Brian Bennett (34) and Ben Curran (24).
