Jueelee Chavan and Bhakti Triumph in Women's Doubles at Grand Prix Mumbai

Champions of the Women's Doubles 19+ Advanced

On Thursday, July 23, Jueelee Chavan and Bhakti emerged victorious in the Women's Doubles 19+ Advanced category at the Grand Prix Mumbai, held at The Ballard Pier. The duo maintained an unbeaten streak throughout the tournament, culminating in a decisive 11-5 victory against Bindiya Aggarwal and Sameera Lala in the final match. Their exceptional net play and precise shot execution left their opponents with minimal opportunities to gain momentum during the championship match.

Throughout the group stage, Jueelee and Bhakti showcased their dominance by winning all three of their matches, including victories of 11-7 over Rakshu Kartikeya Panchal and Aakanksha Rawat, 11-9 against Pranati Wadhwa and Ankita Chawala, and 11-8 against Bindiya and Sameera. Bindiya and Sameera also had a commendable journey to the finals, securing two wins out of three group matches before facing the champions once more.

This victory adds to Jueelee and Bhakti's impressive performance at the Mumbai leg of the Grand Prix series, where they did not lose a single match throughout the day. The Grand Prix Mumbai featured a total of eight divisions, divided into Open and 19+ Advanced categories for both men and women, encompassing singles and doubles formats. Each division was conducted in a round-robin style during the pool stage, leading into knockout rounds.

The Grand Prix is part of a PWR 700-sanctioned series that will span 13 cities, offering a prize pool of up to Rs 50 lakh along with ranking points. In addition to the singles categories, which contribute to the IPBL's Road to IPBL pathway, the event provided a competitive platform for doubles and Advanced-tier players, complete with pool stages, knockout rounds, and ranking points available at each location.
