England's fast bowler Jofra Archer missed a crucial training session at Edgbaston due to a family emergency. Despite this setback, he is expected to rejoin the squad in time for the second Test against India. Archer, who has been dealing with elbow injuries, last played a Test match over four years ago. The upcoming match is set to begin on Wednesday, raising questions about his readiness and the impact on the team's performance.
 

Jofra Archer's Absence from Training


In Birmingham, England's fast bowler Jofra Archer was unable to participate in Monday's training session at Edgbaston due to a family emergency. However, he is anticipated to rejoin the team on Tuesday as they prepare for the second Test against India.


Archer, who had missed the first Test, was included in the England squad for the five-match series just last week.


The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Monday, "Men's fast bowler Jofra Archer will not be joining the England Test squad for today's training session at Edgbaston, Monday 30 June, due to a family emergency. He is expected to rejoin the squad tomorrow, Tuesday."


Having faced elbow injuries over the past few years, Archer last played a Test match more than four years ago against India in Ahmedabad.


The second Test is set to commence here on Wednesday.
