Bumrah has not bowled since the second ODI against England in Cardiff on July 16. He was also absent from the final ODI at Lord's, with the BCCI citing an impact injury sustained while fielding during the Cardiff match.

After the series against England, Bumrah reportedly received an injection in his knee as part of a long-term recovery strategy devised by the BCCI medical team. This week, he visited the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for fitness evaluations.
