In a thrilling encounter at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur FC showcased their strength by defeating Chennaiyin FC 4-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 on Saturday. Sanan Mohammed's two goals, along with contributions from Raphaël Messi Bouli and Nikola Stojanovic, secured a vital three points for the home team, elevating them to fourth place in the league standings with 18 points. Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC remains in 10th place with just nine points.


Early Dominance by Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur FC set the pace right from the start, employing a high-pressing strategy that put Chennaiyin FC under pressure. Despite a few opportunities for Chennaiyin, Jamshedpur's sharp finishing made all the difference in the match.


The hosts began strongly, with Stojanovic and Madih Talal testing the Chennaiyin defense within the first minute. Chennaiyin almost equalized quickly, but Irfan Yadwad's header was expertly saved by Jamshedpur's goalkeeper, Albino Gomes. The breakthrough came in the seventh minute when Sanan scored after a well-executed play, giving Jamshedpur an early lead.


Messi Bouli Extends the Lead

In the 27th minute, Jamshedpur doubled their advantage. Nikhil Barla delivered a precise cross from the left, allowing Messi Bouli to head the ball into the net, making it 2-0. The home side continued to press for more goals but couldn't capitalize further before halftime.


Second Half Highlights

After the break, Chennaiyin FC tried to regain control and had more possession early on, but Jamshedpur's defense held firm. Gomes made another crucial save to deny Daniel Chima. Jamshedpur struck again in the 58th minute when Sanan scored his second goal, effectively sealing the match at 3-0.


Chennaiyin managed to score in the 68th minute through Prakadeswaran S, who curled a beautiful shot into the top corner, giving the visitors a brief moment of hope. However, Jamshedpur quickly restored their three-goal lead ten minutes later, with Stojanovic finishing off a well-coordinated move to make it 4-1.
