Quarterfinals Await
This victory propels the Manipuri boxer into the quarterfinals, where he will compete on Tuesday for a spot in the semifinals. Notably, both losing semifinalists in boxing at the Commonwealth Games are awarded bronze medals, meaning a win in the quarterfinals will secure him at least a bronze. Jadumani, who transitioned to the 55kg category this season after clinching silver in the 50kg division at last year's World Boxing Cup Finals in Noida, has shown remarkable form with consecutive unanimous decision victories.
India's performance on Sunday was strong across various events. In women's weightlifting, Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu achieved her third consecutive gold at the Commonwealth Games, while Chanambam Rishikanta Singh earned silver in the men's 60 kg category.
