ISSO National Badminton Championship 2026-27 Concludes with Record Participation
Championship Overview
The ISSO National Badminton Championship for the year 2026-27 wrapped up at Prometheus School in Noida, showcasing the talents of 590 student-athletes from 106 schools that follow international curricula. This five-day event took place from October 1 to 5, 2026, featuring competitions for both boys and girls in the U14, U17, and U19 age groups, including individual and team events.
A Successful Venue
Prometheus School served as an excellent host, providing a top-notch environment for the young competitors. The matches were held in the school's air-conditioned indoor badminton hall, which boasts eight world-class courts, ensuring a professional experience for all participants.
Growing Scale of the Championship
Mukesh Sharma, the Founder Chairperson and CEO of Prometheus School, is dedicated to enhancing sporting opportunities for youth. Individual Championship Highlights
The individual championships showcased remarkable performances across all age categories. In the U14 Boys category, Madhav Sharma from Jayshree Periwal Global School clinched the title, while Vanya Choudhary from Prometheus School Noida took home the U14 Girls championship after defeating Shanaya Tak from Rustomjee Cambridge International School Virar.
In the U17 category, Muhammad Ayaan Patel from Fountainhead School emerged victorious in the Boys division, overcoming Pratim Manihar from Witty International School, Mumbai. Manisha Thirukonda Vishnu Kumar from SNBP World School, Pune, won the Girls championship by defeating Chaarvi Petta from The Gaudium School.
At the U19 level, Daksh Gehlot from Rockwoods International School secured the Boys title after beating Pushkar Shriram from Sanjay Ghodawat International School. Siona Gala from Fountainhead School triumphed in the Girls category, defeating Teestha Gaonkar from Oberoi International School, Goregaon Campus.
Team Event Champions
The team events were fiercely contested, with notable performances in all six categories. Yellow Train School won the U14 Boys title by defeating Rustomjee Cambridge International School Virar 2-0, while Prometheus School Noida claimed the U14 Girls championship with a similar score against Mayo College Girls School.
Fountainhead School emerged as the U17 Boys champion after a 2-0 victory over Indus International School Bengaluru, and The Chintels School won the U17 Girls title by overcoming The Gaudium School 2-0. In the U19 category, Rockwoods International School secured the Boys team championship with a 2-0 win against Sanjay Ghodawat International School, while Fountainhead School triumphed in the Girls team event, defeating Jayshree Periwal International School 2-1.
