In the gold medal match, he contributed 20 runs off 18 balls, hitting three boundaries. Earlier, in the semifinal against Sri Lanka, Kishan showcased his skills with an impressive unbeaten score of 80 runs from 46 balls, providing a solid foundation for the bowlers to defend.
In total, Kishan has amassed 1,005 runs in T20Is this year, boasting an average of 37.22 and an impressive strike rate of 169.47. His performance includes one century and seven half-centuries, with a personal best of 103 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav holds the distinction of being the first Indian batter to achieve over 1,000 runs in a calendar year in T20Is. In 2022, he scored 1,164 runs across 31 matches, maintaining an average of 46.56 and a strike rate exceeding 187, which included two centuries and nine fifties.
The record for the most runs in a calendar year by a batter from a Test-playing nation is held by Pakistan's Mohammed Rizwan, who scored 1,326 runs in 2021 over 29 matches and 26 innings, averaging 73.66 with a strike rate above 134, featuring one century and 12 fifties.
Karanbir Singh from Austria holds the overall record for the most runs in a calendar year in T20Is, with a staggering 1,488 runs in 32 matches and innings in 2025, averaging 51.31 and striking at over 174, including two centuries and 13 fifties.

Winning the toss, India chose to bat first. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made a quick impact with 15 runs off nine balls, hitting two sixes before being dismissed. Abhishek Sharma played a pivotal role, scoring a rapid 61 runs from just 28 balls, which included three fours and seven sixes. Ishan Kishan (20) and captain Shreyas Iyer (21) contributed to a stable innings, setting the stage for Tilak Varma, who scored 51 not out off 22 balls, and Shivam Dube, who added 27 not out off 15 balls.
