Isha Lakhani and Naimi Mehta emerged victorious in the Pro Women’s Doubles category at the Indian Open 2026, a prestigious PWR 1000 event sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association. The tournament took place at CrossCourts in Hyderabad on April 5. The duo faced off against Pearl Amalsadiwala and Naomi Amalsadiwala, overcoming an initial setback to win the match with scores of 8-11, 11-8, 11-1.
After losing the first game, Isha and Naimi made crucial adjustments, seizing control in the subsequent games. Their ability to remain composed under pressure and maintain a high level of play was instrumental in their decisive victory.
In a post-match interview with Pickleball Now, Isha expressed her satisfaction with the match, stating, “It was a great match. It was a three-setter and very close, but we pulled through. I am very happy about it.” Naimi shared her thoughts on the challenge they faced, saying, “I am feeling really great. It was a very good final. Naomi and Pearl played really well from the beginning to the deciding set. We were under pressure, but we managed to pull through.”
The duo emphasized the importance of their growing synergy, which has been cultivated through extensive training together. Isha noted, “We have been playing together for a while now, both internationally and nationally. We have been training a lot together as well, and there is a nice bond that is showing on court.” Naimi added, “It was a great match and I am very happy that we could bring the gold home.”
This victory marks another significant achievement for the pair, showcasing their development as a formidable team in Indian pickleball. Their performance in Hyderabad highlighted their experience and capability to excel in high-stakes situations.
