Virat Kohli Unveils New Tattoo Ahead of IPL 2026 Season
Kohli's Latest Ink: A Symbol of Growth
Virat Kohli's passion for tattoos is widely recognized. The renowned cricketer, who already has an impressive collection of tattoos, recently added another piece just days before the commencement of IPL 2026.
The tattoo studio, Aliens Tattoo, shared detailed insights into the design adorning Kohli's left arm.
According to Aliens Tattoo, the new ink represents Kohli's journey and personal growth over the years. Rather than simply adding a new design, the goal was to create a cohesive artwork that integrates his past experiences with his current outlook.
The tattoo features elements like the lotus and peony, which are often associated with resilience and personal development. The specific meanings behind these motifs have been kept private.
The project involved artists carefully considering Kohli's existing tattoos, including an unfinished armband inspired by Shiva, along with other designs that reflect different phases of his life.
Aliens Tattoo explained, 'His left arm was not a blank slate. It already bore years of ink, including an incomplete armband and older tattoos from various life stages. Some designs had faded, while others no longer conveyed the clarity and intent they once did. Our approach was intentional; some areas required covering, others needed refinement, and additional elements were added purposefully to create a unified sleeve that flows seamlessly.'
On the cricketing front, Kohli is gearing up for another exciting IPL season, aiming to thrill fans and keep statisticians busy.
Currently, he has amassed 8,661 runs in 267 matches, including eight centuries and 63 fifties. He is also on the verge of becoming the first player to reach 9,000 runs in IPL history.
With a total of 9,085 runs in 282 matches for RCB across IPL and the now-defunct Champions League T20, Kohli is just one remarkable season away from being the first player to score 10,000 runs for a single IPL team in all T20 formats.
In T20Is, Kohli has scored 13,543 runs, featuring nine centuries and 105 fifties. He aims to join the elite 14,000-run club alongside cricket legends like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, and David Warner.
Last season, Kohli was the leading run-scorer for his team, accumulating 657 runs in 15 innings at an impressive average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71, with eight fifties.
