Kohli's Challenge Ahead of KKR Clash

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], May 13: Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is eager to regain his form as he prepares to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a team that poses a significant challenge with the presence of legendary spinner Sunil Narine.

This season of IPL 2026 has been a rollercoaster for Kohli, who has unfortunately recorded two consecutive ducks. Despite this setback, his aggressive approach during the powerplay has been a highlight for fans. Even though he has stepped back from international T20 cricket, supporters are hopeful that the leading run-scorer in IPL history will return to his scoring ways.

At 37, Kohli boasts an impressive record against KKR, amassing 1,021 runs over 36 matches and 33 innings, averaging 39.26 with a strike rate of 132.94, including one century and seven half-centuries. In his last five encounters with KKR, he has achieved three fifties, with scores of 21, 54, 83*, 18, and 59*.

The matchup against Narine, who recently became the third bowler in IPL history to take 200 wickets, will be particularly intriguing. Narine has dismissed Kohli four times in 21 innings, managing to restrict him to 171 runs off 168 balls at a strike rate just above 101, which includes 12 boundaries and two sixes, alongside 57 dot balls.

Currently, Kohli has scored 379 runs in 11 matches, averaging 42.11 with a strike rate of 163.36, featuring three fifties. Narine, on the other hand, has claimed 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 22.80, but it is his impressive economy rate of 6.51 that puts pressure on opposing batters.
