In a remarkable debut performance, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored a stunning 50 runs off just 19 balls, leading India to a seven-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the first T20 match of their three-match series on Thursday.

Pacer Mayank Yadav made a successful return to the international stage, helping to restrict Zimbabwe to a total of 125 runs for seven wickets. India chased down the target in just 13.2 overs, thanks to Sooryavanshi's explosive innings, which featured four boundaries and an equal number of sixes.

A New Era Under Shreyas Iyer

This match marked India's first win under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, who had faced a challenging start with six consecutive losses in his previous outings in Ireland and England.

Sooryavanshi, who had a disappointing debut in England earlier this month, showcased his skills at a familiar venue where he previously scored an impressive 175 runs in the U-19 World Cup final earlier this year.
