Urvil Patel's Record-Breaking Performance

In a thrilling match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings' Urvil Patel matched the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history, achieving this remarkable feat in just 13 balls on Sunday.

The right-handed batsman now shares this record with Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who set the previous benchmark for the Rajasthan Royals against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023.

Holding the second-fastest fifty record are KL Rahul, Pat Cummins, and Romario Shepherd, each reaching the milestone in 14 balls.

Coming in at number three, Urvil started explosively, hitting three consecutive sixes off Avesh Khan and later scored 25 runs off Digvesh Rathi's sixth over, including three more sixes and a four.

He also targeted Indian pacer Mohammed Shami, sending a massive hit over mid-wicket, and completed his fifty with a single to the off-side on his 13th delivery.

The 27-year-old, who plays for Gujarat in domestic cricket and has represented India A, focused his sixes towards the long-on and midwicket areas.

After his impressive innings, Urvil dedicated this achievement to his father, revealing a note from his pocket that read, 'This is for you Papa.'
