On September 14, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) along with IPL franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings came together to honor former T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav on his 36th birthday, recognizing his significant contributions to Indian cricket.

Born in September 1990, Suryakumar has made remarkable strides in his cricketing career, notably clinching the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award in both 2022 and 2023.

He achieved the top spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings in October 2022, reaching an impressive 910 rating points in January 2023, marking one of the highest ratings in the format's history.

As a pivotal player, he was instrumental in India's victory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and later captained the team to defend their title in the 2026 T20 World Cup, making history. Under his leadership, India also secured the T20 Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE.
