New Delhi, May 1: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has officially brought RS Ambrish on board as a replacement for Shivam Mavi, who is sidelined due to a groin injury for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season.
RS Ambrish, an all-rounder, played a pivotal role in India's victory at the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026, where he emerged as one of the team's top bowlers, securing 11 wickets throughout the tournament.
According to an IPL announcement, "Sunrisers Hyderabad has signed RS Ambrish as an injury replacement for Shivam Mavi for the ongoing TATA IPL 2026 season. Mavi, a right-arm medium pacer, has been ruled out due to a groin injury."
Ambrish, who is both a right-arm medium pacer and a left-handed batsman, will join the SRH squad for a fee of INR 30 Lakh. He was a key player in the victorious India Under-19 team, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 11 wickets.
Joining a youthful bowling lineup, Ambrish will complement the efforts of emerging talents like Praful Hinge (24) and Sakib Hussain (21), who have been impressive this season.
