Kolkata (West Bengal) [India] - On May 17, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Sunil Narine attributed the team's recent success to diligent effort and thorough preparation after their impressive 29-run victory against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday night.


Narine expressed confidence in the team's ability to sustain their winning streak in upcoming matches, regardless of the competition.


Contributions from Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Cameron Green with the bat, along with Narine's bowling prowess, propelled KKR to a solid win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.


"Success comes from hard work. The team has been preparing diligently, and our efforts are paying off. We aim to keep winning, no matter what challenges lie ahead," Narine stated post-match.


In a remarkable achievement, Narine became the first overseas player and the 13th overall to reach 200 appearances in IPL history.


Reflecting on this milestone, Narine described it as a significant moment in his career, expressing gratitude and a desire to continue performing at a high level for many more seasons.


"I hope to play many more matches. It’s a blessing to have come this far, and I look forward to continuing this journey and delivering strong performances," he added.


KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane commended his team's efforts, particularly praising the explosive batting from Allen, Raghuvanshi, and Green, as well as the effective bowling from Saurabh Dubey and Kartik Tyagi. He emphasized the importance of trusting the players' skills.


Allen led the scoring with an impressive 93 runs off just 35 balls, while Raghuvanshi supported with a solid 82 off 44 balls.


Green capped off the innings with an unbeaten 52 runs from 28 balls, helping KKR reach a formidable total of 247.


"It was a great match. I'm thrilled with the two points. It was humid, but I'm really pleased with how we started, especially after losing the toss. The performances from Finn Allen, Angkrish, and Cameron Green were outstanding. They consistently put pressure on quality bowlers, which was fantastic. Credit goes to these players," Rahane remarked.
