Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 5: As the much-anticipated "Revenge Week" match approaches, legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has shared his thoughts on the upcoming face-off between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Both teams are vying for a spot in the playoffs, making this match crucial for their aspirations. Gavaskar underscored the importance of this encounter for both franchises.

During his analysis on Star Sports, Gavaskar remarked, "With both Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals competing for playoff positions, this match holds great significance. CSK enters this game on the back of consecutive victories against MI, while Delhi recently secured a win against Rajasthan. Their confidence is notably high, particularly for Chennai. However, defeating Delhi at their home ground will be a challenge."

Gavaskar also pointed out several key players to keep an eye on from both teams.

"Ruturaj is finding his form again, and the middle order is stepping up. Dewald Brevis has had a subdued season and needs to elevate his performance. Shivam Dube must take on more responsibility with the bat, as his fielding has not been up to par," he observed.

"Nonetheless, the atmosphere in the Chennai camp appears optimistic. Delhi will present a formidable challenge, with their openers in good form and their bowling unit gaining momentum. Chennai must not underestimate them," Gavaskar added.

He also noted that Delhi's batting lineup has been performing well, and highlighted Akeal Hosein as a potential threat to the Capitals' openers.

"I would like to see Akeal Hosein take the new ball against Delhi's openers. His flight and variations can create problems for them. He makes scoring runs difficult, so if he starts with the ball, Delhi might face early challenges," he suggested.

Gavaskar further emphasized that the toss could significantly influence the match's outcome. "The toss will play a crucial role in this game," he stated.
