In Jaipur, Rajasthan, on May 20, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant acknowledged that his team could have scored more runs during the death overs. This admission came after LSG faced a five-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2026 match on Tuesday night.


Strong Performance but Missed Opportunities

Despite a solid total of 220/5, thanks to impressive performances from Mitchell Marsh (96 runs) and Josh Inglis (60 runs), LSG could not defend their score. RR successfully chased down the target, led by a remarkable innings from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 93 runs.


Pant's Insights on the Game

Pant praised RR's Jofra Archer for his exceptional final over and noted that LSG missed the opportunity to increase their total. He stated, “Archer bowled brilliantly in the last over. We could have added five or ten more runs, but we fell short.”

The explosive opening partnership between Inglis and Marsh propelled LSG to 83/0 during the powerplay, marking their fourth-highest score of the season. Inglis reached a fifty in just 30 balls, contributing to a 109-run opening stand with Marsh, who later scored 96 off 57 balls.
