RCB vs GT: Patidar Elects to Field in Crucial IPL Clash
RCB Skipper Wins Toss Against Gujarat Titans
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 24: In a pivotal match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to field first against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.
This match marks RCB's last home game of the season, and they are keen to recover from their recent defeat to the Delhi Capitals.
On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans are looking to bounce back after suffering a heavy 99-run defeat to the Mumbai Indians.
With RCB currently holding 8 points and GT trailing closely with 6, this match is crucial for both teams in their quest for playoff positions.
Jason Holder is making his debut for the Gujarat Titans, receiving his cap from Kagiso Rabada.
Patidar commented, “We will field first. There’s one change – Salty is injured, and Bethell is in. We are evaluating the wicket and the situation effectively, and our planning has been solid. This pitch appears favorable for batting, but it may be a bit tacky in the first innings.”
GT captain Shubman Gill added, “Chasing is generally good here, but we aim to have a strong performance. It’s essential to assess the conditions early and establish a solid foundation. Matches like the one against MI can occur in such a competitive tournament, but we are focusing on the positives. We have made two changes: Jason Holder is playing, and Manav Suthar returns.”
