RCB Prepares for Crucial Clash Against LSG in IPL Showdown
RCB Gears Up for Key Match Against LSG
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] - On May 6, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is set to face off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. As the competition for playoff spots heats up, RCB remains focused on the immediate challenge ahead.
In a pre-match statement, RCB's Assistant Coach Malolan Rangarajan emphasized that the team's concentration is solely on the upcoming game against LSG, rather than the current standings in the Points Table.
“While we are aware of how the table looks, our focus cannot waver due to the performance of other teams. Our priority is the match against LSG tomorrow,” he remarked.
Malolan further noted that the team's discussions have centered on collective improvement rather than future matches.
“We continuously evaluate how we can enhance our performance as a team and leverage trends in the tournament. Our immediate focus is on the next game,” he added.
Regarding the playing conditions in Lucknow and potential adjustments to the lineup, Malolan stated, “We generally maintain our combinations. With Krunal Pandya performing well and Suyash Sharma available, along with four pacers, we are satisfied with our squad and will adapt based on what we observe tomorrow.”
He also expressed confidence in Jitesh Sharma, praising his experience and proactive approach.
“Jitesh is a well-rounded player. His consistent presence in IPL squads and national teams is no coincidence. He played a vital role for us last season,” Malolan noted.
“Our message to Jitesh is that he understands how he can contribute to the team in various situations. That’s what he’s been focusing on, and we aim to prepare him during training for the scenarios he might encounter and how he can influence the game for us,” he concluded.
