Exciting Semifinal Clash Ahead

Paris [France], April 26: Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are set to clash with six-time titleholders Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal on Tuesday night.

PSG enters this match following a commanding 4-0 victory over Liverpool in the quarterfinals, while Bayern Munich is riding high after eliminating 15-time champions Real Madrid with a 6-4 aggregate score.

Both teams have showcased an aggressive style of play this season, each netting 38 goals, the highest among all clubs. However, PSG may find it challenging to overcome the German side, who previously defeated them 2-1 in the group stage, marking five consecutive wins against the French team.

Last season, PSG faced a similar challenge when they lost 2-0 early in the tournament but rebounded to defeat Arsenal 3-1 on aggregate in the semifinals.

A key matchup to watch will be between Marquinhos, who is set to equal Roberto Carlos' Brazilian record of 120 UEFA Champions League appearances, and Harry Kane, who has already scored a career-high 12 goals in this season's tournament, according to UEFA.

In a pre-match statement, PSG coach Luis Enrique remarked, "Every coach aims to approach the final stages in optimal conditions. Currently, we are in the semifinals, and all players are available except for Quentin Ndjantou. The Champions League brings a unique energy, and everyone is eager to seize the moment."

Paris winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia reflected on their previous defeat, stating, "I recall that match; we didn't perform as well, partly due to injuries. In the second half, we demonstrated our potential to win, but we failed to convert our chances."

Bayern's coach Vincent Kompany added, "We have triumphed at the Bernabeu this year and also in Paris. While PSG are the reigning Champions League holders, we believe we are capable of rising to this challenge. We respect their quality, but we are ready for this match."

Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano emphasized, "This is a significant match for us. Our focus is entirely on our performance. PSG boasts exceptional players and a strong squad, but our aim is to secure a victory here."
