Prabhsimran Singh Makes IPL History with 500 Runs in Two Seasons
Prabhsimran Singh's Historic Achievement
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] - On May 24, Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh made history by becoming the first uncapped Indian player to score over 500 runs in two different Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons.
This remarkable milestone was reached during PBKS's impressive seven-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium on Saturday night.
Prabhsimran delivered a stellar performance, scoring 69 runs off just 39 balls, which included seven boundaries and two sixes, significantly aiding his team's chase of a 197-run target.
With this innings, he surpassed the 500-run mark for the second time in his IPL journey, having previously accumulated 549 runs in 2025 and now achieving this feat again in 2026.
In the match, Punjab Kings showcased a commanding all-round display, successfully chasing down LSG's target of 197 runs with relative ease.
Captain Shreyas Iyer played a pivotal role, scoring his first IPL century with an impressive 101 runs off 51 balls, while Prabhsimran's contribution of 69 runs helped propel PBKS to a solid victory, placing them fourth in the league standings with 15 points.
Earlier in the game, LSG set a challenging total of 196/6, thanks to a strong innings from Josh Inglis, who scored 72 runs off 44 balls, and a quick 37 from Abdul Samad. Despite consistent breakthroughs from Punjab's bowlers, including Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen, LSG's total was not enough as PBKS comfortably chased it down with an over to spare.
