Min Woo Lee Joins Star-Studded Lineup for India Championship

New Delhi, August 10: Australian golfer Min Woo Lee, a winner on both the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, is gearing up for his professional debut in India at the upcoming India Championship.

Lee will compete alongside a host of international stars, including defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, four-time Major winner Rory McIlroy, and 2026 Open Champion Ryan Fox, during the eagerly awaited event at Delhi Golf Club from October 15-18, as announced in a recent press release.

Having secured his first DP World Tour victory in 2020 shortly after turning professional, Lee thrilled fans with his win at the ISPS HANDA Vic Open in Australia. He has since added two more titles to his name, including a Rolex Series win in Scotland the following year.

Last season, Lee clinched his first PGA Tour title by narrowly defeating World Number One Scottie Scheffler and Major champion Gary Woodland at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Representing Australia at the Paris Olympic Games and the International team at the Presidents Cup in 2024, Lee expressed his enthusiasm: “I love playing globally and am thrilled to compete in India for the first time at the DP World India Championship.”

“I’ve heard great things about last year’s tournament, and it promises to feature another outstanding field. I’m looking forward to the entire experience, both on and off the golf course,” he added.

Launched in 2025 by global logistics leader DP World, the DP World India Championship boasts a prize fund of $4 million, making it the largest ever for a DP World Tour event in India. Co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), it is a key part of the Back 9 phase of the Race to Dubai.

This October's championship will see Major winners like McIlroy, Fox, Shane Lowry, and Justin Rose, along with European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald and stars Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland. Indian golfers Shubhankar Sharma and Anirban Lahiri will also be part of the impressive lineup.

The India Championship will be the eighth event in the Back 9 phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai, leading up to the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs and culminating in the DP World Tour Championship in November at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
