Kyle Jamieson's Conduct Under Scrutiny

In a recent Indian Premier League match, Delhi Capitals bowler Kyle Jamieson was penalized with one demerit point for his heated send-off directed at Rajasthan Royals' young talent, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.


According to an official IPL announcement, "Kyle Jamieson has been assigned one demerit point and issued a warning for violating Level 1 of the IPL's Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during Match No. 43 against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur."


The New Zealand fast bowler was found to have contravened Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, which addresses the use of language, gestures, or actions that may belittle or incite an aggressive response from another player.


The incident took place in the second over of the innings when Jamieson, after taking the wicket of the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi, approached him in a manner that could have triggered a hostile reaction.


Jamieson acknowledged his wrongdoing and accepted the penalty imposed by Match Referee Rajeev Seth.
