Krunal Pandya Celebrates Fifth IPL Title with RCB
Krunal Pandya's Remarkable Achievement
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 1: Veteran all-rounder Krunal Pandya expressed his delight after clinching his fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title, describing the accomplishment as "incredibly satisfying."
With this latest victory, Krunal has solidified his status as one of the IPL's most successful players, having won his fifth title and his second consecutive championship with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He previously secured three titles while playing for the Mumbai Indians (MI).
In the 2026 season, he played a pivotal role in helping RCB defend their title successfully.
During an interview on JioHotstar, Pandya shared, "Winning trophies has always driven me in cricket; there’s nothing like the feeling of lifting a championship. While individual performances and match victories are fulfilling, winning a tournament is truly special."
He continued, "Throughout my career, I’ve envisioned and worked towards team success, and I’ve been lucky to be part of teams that have achieved that. Winning my fifth IPL trophy in eleven years is incredibly satisfying, and I’m thankful for the journey and the opportunities I’ve had."
In the final match, RCB opted to bat first, and Gujarat Titans (GT) managed to score only 155 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Washington Sundar was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 50 runs off 37 balls, while Nishant Sindhu contributed 20 runs. Rasikh Dar Salam (3/27), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/29), and Josh Hazlewood (2/37) consistently took wickets for RCB.
RCB began their chase strongly, with a 62-run partnership between Venkatesh Iyer (32 runs off 16 balls) and Virat Kohli. Although GT fought back and reduced RCB to 132/5, Virat Kohli's unbeaten 75 runs off 42 balls led RCB to victory with two overs remaining. This marks RCB's second IPL title and their fourth overall in Indian franchise cricket, which includes two Women’s Premier League (WPL) titles.
