Josh Inglis to Join LSG Ahead of Key Match

New Delhi, April 20: Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis is anticipated to join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season, just in time for their match against the Mumbai Indians on May 4, as reported by a sports news outlet.

As per the report, Inglis, who recently tied the knot on April 18, plans to spend a few more weeks with his family before heading to India to link up with his IPL team for the remainder of the season.

Inglis was signed by the Lucknow franchise for an impressive Rs 8.60 crore during last year's mega auction.

If he becomes available for selection by May 4, the right-handed batter could participate in the last six matches of the league stage, depending on the team's strategy.

Inglis made his IPL debut with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2025 season, where he played 11 matches, scoring 278 runs with an average of 30.88 and a strike rate of 162.57, including one century.

In other news, South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje departed from the LSG camp last week, with the reasons for his exit remaining unclear. He played only one match this season against the Delhi Capitals on April 1, where he went wicketless, conceding 39 runs in four overs.

Following a defeat to the Punjab Kings by 54 runs on Sunday, the Rishabh Pant-led LSG currently sits eighth in the points table, having secured just two wins from six matches. Their next game is against the Rajasthan Royals in Lucknow on April 22.
