Inglis Signs with Lucknow Super Giants

New Delhi [India] - Australian wicketkeeper and batter Josh Inglis has officially joined the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team in preparation for their upcoming match on May 4, making him available for selection immediately.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, South African player Matthew Breetzke has departed from the tournament due to personal matters. Inglis was previously released by Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction because of his wedding and was subsequently acquired by LSG for a sum of Rs 8.60 crore.

Inglis tied the knot on April 18 in Margaret River, Western Australia. During his time with PBKS, he accumulated 278 runs over 11 innings, boasting an average of 30.88 and a strike rate of 162.57.

Breetzke has returned to South Africa after leaving the LSG squad prior to their home game against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 26, which ended in a super over.

Inglis has already started training with his new teammates. The upcoming match against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium will be the ninth for both teams this season, with each struggling at the bottom of the table with only two wins.

In the week ahead, LSG faces a challenging schedule with three matches: against the Mumbai Indians on Monday in Mumbai, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday in Lucknow, and the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday in Chennai, as they aim to revitalize their campaign.
