IPL Playoffs Schedule Announced: Key Matches Set for Mullanpur and Dharamsala
IPL Playoffs Set to Begin
The Eliminator and Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International PCA Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, while Qualifier 1 is scheduled for the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
The grand finale will be hosted at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, a change from the original plan to hold it at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This adjustment was made due to specific requirements from local authorities that exceeded the BCCI's standard protocols.
On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the playoff schedule for this year's IPL.
Qualifier 1, which will feature the top two teams from the league standings, is set for May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, with a direct spot in the final on the line. The action will then shift to the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh for the Eliminator on May 27, where the third and fourth-placed teams will compete. Qualifier 2 will also be held at this venue on May 29, where the loser of Qualifier 1 will take on the winner of the Eliminator to secure the second finalist position.
The IPL season will culminate with the Final on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After 70 thrilling league matches, the tournament is now entering its crucial phase. This season, the playoffs will be held across three venues due to specific operational and logistical factors.
