18-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi announced his arrival in the Indian Premier League on Wednesday (April 3) with a sensational half-century. The youngster made his debut in the 16th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. Sunil Narine and Phil Salt put on 60 runs for the first wicket before the latter was dismissed by Enrich Nortje.

After such a strong start, Venkatesh Iyer was expected to bat at number three. However, the KKR team management sent in Angkrish Raghuvanshi and it didn't take long for the youngster to justify his team call. He opened his IPL account by hitting Nortje for two brilliant fours and never looked back. With Sunil Narine all out at one end, the youngster also put in a brilliant effort to keep the scoreboard moving at an impressive rate. In the 13th over of the innings, he completed a magnificent fifty in just 25 balls. He scored four more runs before being dismissed by Nortje.
 

Talking about the game, KKR posted a mammoth score of 272/7 in the allotted 20 overs after their captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. After a 60-run partnership between Narine and Salt, East and Angkrish Raghuvanshi put on a 104-run partnership. Narine top scored for KKR, scoring 85 off just 39 balls. Andre Russell also played an important innings of 41 runs off 19 balls.
