Excitement Surrounds the TG20 Tournament in Hyderabad
The TG20 tournament organized by the Hyderabad Cricket Association is witnessing an overwhelming turnout and gaining international recognition.
Agam Rao, the Chairman of the TG20 Governing Council, emphasized the league's vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of the IPL, with daily attendance exceeding 20,000 fans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.
This tournament, which runs from June 21 to July 12, comprises 32 matches featuring eight franchises and a roster of 160 talented players.
Rao noted that the event has showcased exceptional cricketing talent and has received accolades both domestically and globally.
He stated, “The tournament commenced on June 21, with the final scheduled for July 12. We have eight teams competing in 32 matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal. The atmosphere is akin to that of the IPL, with over 20,000 spectators attending daily to witness these franchises in action. The level of play is outstanding, and it has garnered appreciation from fans across India and beyond.”
Sanjeev Reddy, a member of the TG20 Governing Council, remarked on the inaugural tournament's success.
He highlighted the enthusiastic crowds, seamless organization, and favorable weather, noting that players have been performing exceptionally well without any complaints.
“This first-year tournament has launched successfully. The crowd support is fantastic, and players are expressing themselves freely. Thankfully, we have had no rain this season, contributing to a wonderful atmosphere. We have received no complaints, and we anticipate an incredible final event, featuring performances from local singers and a showcase of Telangana culture. I look forward to a packed stadium on that day,” Reddy added.
