Gujarat Titans Secure Victory Over Sunrisers Hyderabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 13: The Gujarat Titans (GT) have ascended to the pinnacle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 standings following a commanding 82-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday.

During an analysis on Star Sports' 'Amul Cricket Live', cricket expert Saba Karim provided insights into Kagiso Rabada's impressive performance against SRH.

While defending a total of 168 runs, GT's Kagiso Rabada delivered a remarkable spell, taking 3 wickets for just 28 runs in four overs. He dismantled SRH's top order, sending Abhishek Sharma (6), Ishan Kishan (11), and Smaran Ravichandran (9) back to the pavilion, leaving SRH struggling at 32/4 within 5.5 overs. His outstanding performance earned him the 'Player of the Match' title.

Karim praised Rabada's exceptional bowling, stating, “Rabada has emerged as the spearhead of GT's pace attack. He executed his strengths flawlessly, generating extra bounce and maintaining a fiery presence throughout his spell. His strategy to dismiss Abhishek Sharma was particularly impressive.”

He further noted, “Against Ishan Kishan, who appeared solid when the ball was in his comfort zone, Rabada cleverly bowled short and wide, forcing an error. He sets the tone for the other bowlers, leading the bowling strategy that they all follow.”

Following Rabada's spell, Jason Holder (3/20 in four overs) and Prasidh Krishna (2/23 in three overs) wrapped up SRH's innings for a mere 86 runs, sealing the match with an 82-run margin.

With this victory, GT now boasts eight wins and four losses, placing them at the top of the table with 16 points, while SRH has dropped to third with seven wins and five losses, totaling 14 points.

Next, the Gujarat Titans will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, while SRH will go up against CSK at Chepauk on Monday.
