Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Brand Ambassador Vijay Deverakonda highlighted the event's significance for aspiring cricketers in Telangana. Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu and international star Mohammed Siraj encouraged young players to seize the opportunity and express themselves on this new platform. Spectacular Opening Ceremony for Sreenidhi University TG20

The Sreenidhi University TG20 tournament kicked off with great enthusiasm on Sunday evening at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event was a vibrant celebration marking the launch of the state's premier T20 cricket competition.


This lively ceremony brought together prominent figures from both the cricketing and entertainment worlds, setting an exciting tone for the tournament's inaugural season, as noted in a press release.


Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka attended as the Chief Guest, alongside notable personalities such as Telangana's Director General of Police C V Anand Garu, BCCI Apex Council Member V Chamundeswaranath, HCA Secretary M Jeevan Reddy, HCA Treasurer Anil Kumar, HCA Joint Secretary Basava Raju, Governing Council Chairman V Agam Rao, Governing Council Member C Sanjeev Reddy, and the tournament's Brand Ambassador, Vijay Deverakonda.


The event also featured former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu, who is the Head of Cricket Operations for the tournament, and international player Mohammed Siraj.


The evening was a blend of cricket, entertainment, and celebration, with music by Thaman S enhancing the festive spirit, while fans showed their enthusiasm throughout the event.


With the stadium filled with eager fans, the opening ceremony highlighted the competition's ambition to serve as a significant platform for nurturing cricket talent in Telangana.


Vijay Deverakonda addressed the young cricketers and fans, expressing his hopes for the tournament to create opportunities for aspiring players in the state. He stated, “With this league, I’m hoping we get more superstars from Telangana. I’ll be so happy to see players playing for the Indian team,” emphasizing the league's potential to shape future cricket stars.


Rayudu, who has played a crucial role in the tournament's development, encouraged participants to seize this opportunity and aim high for Telangana cricket. He remarked, “The talent that we have here is immense. Over the years, the number of players from Hyderabad and Telangana should double,” motivating young players to make their mark in the sport.


Siraj, a celebrated fast bowler from Hyderabad, echoed these sentiments, urging players to enjoy the experience. “It’s a very big platform for everyone. Express yourself and enjoy this tournament,” he advised.
