Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Season 5 Begins
Mysuru (Karnataka) [India], June 19: Cricket enthusiasts are in for a treat this Saturday as the fifth edition of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 commences at the SDNR Wadiyar Stadium in Mysuru.
The inaugural day features a thrilling double-header, starting with Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters squaring off against Gulbarga Mystics, followed by an evening match where Shivamogga Yodhas will take on the Mysore Warriors. This tournament is set to run from June 20 to July 12, 2026, across Mysuru, Hubballi, and Bengaluru, with six franchises competing in a total of 34 matches.
To kick off the festivities, a spectacular opening ceremony will take place between the two matches. The event will showcase a performance by renowned Kannada singer and music director Vijay Prakash, and cricketing icon Roger Binny will unveil the trophy for Season 5. The ceremony will also honor the franchise captains and dignitaries, culminating in the captains pledging to uphold the spirit of cricket.
The first match is set to begin at 2:00 PM, featuring Shubhang Hegde's Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters against Manish Pandey's Gulbarga Mystics. The Blasters are bolstered by players like KL Shrijith, Pravin Dubey, and A Rohan Patil, while the Mystics boast a formidable lineup including Macneil Noronha, Melu Kranthi Kumar, and Sharath BR.
The evening showdown, starting at 7:30 PM, will see the Shivamogga Yodhas, newcomers to the tournament, face off against the reigning champions, Mysore Warriors. Led by Smaran R, the Yodhas are eager to make a strong debut, featuring talents such as Luvnith Sisodia, Abhilash Shetty, Yash Raj Punja, Harshil Dharmani, and Aneesh KV. The Warriors, captained by Karnataka pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar, include key players like Chethan LR, Manoj Bhandage, Karthikeya KP, Madhav Prakash Bajaj, Karthik S U, and Lavish Kaushal.
