Abu Dhabi [UAE], September 26: The Emirates Eagles have officially announced their participation in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10, showcasing a strong cricketing roster led by West Indies' Rovman Powell as captain. The team also features renowned international coach Mickey Arthur, along with key signings Trent Boult and Shimron Hetmyer.

The Eagles will make their debut at the Zayed Cricket Stadium when the tournament kicks off from November 7 to November 20.

Demonstrating their ambition, the franchise has assembled a seasoned leadership team and a robust lineup of international players poised to excel in the fast-paced format of cricket.

Rovman Powell, known for his explosive batting style, will captain the squad, while Mickey Arthur, who has coached teams from South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, will direct their cricketing strategy. Trent Boult, a left-arm fast bowler from New Zealand, is expected to deliver crucial wickets, and Shimron Hetmyer will add significant batting strength.

Matt Boucher, CEO of the tournament and its parent organization, Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub (ADCSH), expressed enthusiasm about the Eagles' vision. He stated, "The Emirates Eagles arrive with an exciting vision for what they want to build, both on and off the field. The combination of Rovman Powell, Mickey Arthur, Trent Boult, and Shimron Hetmyer gives them an outstanding cricketing foundation, while the ownership group brings the long-term commitment we want to see from our franchises."

Boucher emphasized the importance of teams with strong identities and world-class talent as the tournament evolves. He looks forward to seeing the Eagles' contributions in November.

The consortium behind the Emirates Eagles includes Annam Satish Prabhakar, Classic Investments, Kondaveeti Durga Pavan Kumar, Bonam Suryaprakash, Annam Kusumkiran, and Allada Ashok Vardhan. They view their entry into the Abu Dhabi T10 as a significant step towards establishing a competitive and sustainable global sports brand.

Rovman Powell's extensive experience in international and franchise cricket will be pivotal, as he is known for his ability to turn games around with his aggressive batting.

Supporting the franchise's leadership is Chief Operating Officer Sandeep Yara, an Indian first-class cricketer with a background in franchise operations, digital marketing, and brand development.

Nabeel Hashmi has been appointed as Team Director after three years as Team Manager of Deccan Gladiators, bringing valuable experience in Abu Dhabi T10 and franchise cricket to the Eagles' management team.

The introduction of Emirates Eagles adds a unique element to the evolving Abu Dhabi T10 lineup as the tournament gears up for its 2026 edition in the UAE capital.
