Miller Shines in Thrilling IPL Match

In a recent IPL clash, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar praised David Miller of the Delhi Capitals for his outstanding performance against the Punjab Kings. Miller showcased his batting prowess by not only dominating the leg side but also executing aggressive shots through the offside and over covers, indicating his complete command over the game.

Bangar pointed out the shortcomings in Punjab's bowling strategy, noting their reliance on predictable lengths and wide yorkers, which lacked the necessary variation such as slower deliveries or cutters.

The Delhi Capitals kept their hopes alive for the IPL 2026 playoffs with a thrilling three-wicket win over the Punjab Kings in Dharamshala, largely thanks to Miller's explosive 51 runs off just 28 balls.

“When David Miller is in full swing, he doesn’t just dominate the leg side. His ability to hit through the offside and over covers indicates he’s in a different league. Bowlers realize they are in trouble when he starts playing like this. The conditions were favorable for batting, with dew on the outfield enhancing the pitch. Miller capitalized on this, timing his shots perfectly,” Bangar commented on Star Sports.

“Punjab's bowlers failed to utilize slower variations, opting instead for wide yorkers and predictable lengths. This allowed Miller to easily read the deliveries, get into position, and unleash his shots. His innings was not just about runs; it was a powerful statement. When he plays like this, he can turn the game around single-handedly,” he added.

Miller, living up to his nickname 'Killer Miller', struck three fours and four sixes, scoring 51 runs and dismantling the PBKS spin attack. His partnership of 64 runs off 34 balls with Axar Patel was crucial in transforming a precarious situation into a successful chase.

Despite Punjab Kings posting a solid total of 210/5 in their innings and reducing DC to 74/4 early on, their chances of victory slipped away due to poor bowling, dropped catches, and misfields, allowing Delhi Capitals to complete the chase with three wickets and one over to spare.
