Miller Reflects on Key Win Against RCB

In Bengaluru, ace batter David Miller of the Delhi Capitals (DC) shared his thoughts on his pivotal role in the team's six-wicket triumph over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). This victory was particularly gratifying following a disappointing match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

After the match on Saturday, Miller expressed relief at successfully completing the chase under pressure, especially after the mental hurdle of recovering from the previous loss to Gujarat.

"It feels fantastic. After that disappointing game the other night, winning today is a great feeling. It lingers in your mind until you manage to win again," Miller remarked.

The seasoned player emphasized the importance of remaining focused and adjusting to the circumstances during the chase, particularly after facing challenges against disciplined bowling.

"I was just trying to stay in the moment and do my best. They bowled six yorkers at me, which made it tough to get going, but I was pleased with how it turned out in the last six overs," he explained.

Miller also discussed the strategic mindset during the final stages of the innings, where DC aimed to strike a balance between risk and control.

"We aimed to finish it in the second-to-last over, but with the runs required, we knew we needed a couple of sixes. So, we focused on minimizing dot balls and capitalizing on boundary opportunities," he added.

He highlighted the significance of communication with teammate Tristan Stubbs during the chase, crediting their partnership for maintaining momentum.

"There were many interruptions in the game, which scattered our focus. When I came out, Stubbo urged me to keep the intensity high, and that was beneficial," Miller noted.

"It's always great to finish games with Stubbo, and he expressed his gratitude, saying, 'thank you so much, you saved me there.' His presence was crucial for us," he concluded.

Delhi Capitals executed a thrilling last-ball chase to secure a four-wicket victory over Bengaluru in an IPL match on Saturday.

RCB batted first, managing to score 175/8, thanks to a solid 63 runs off 38 balls from Phil Salt. DC's bowlers, including Lungi Ngidi, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel, each took two wickets to restrict the scoring.

In response, DC faced early setbacks at 18/3, but KL Rahul (57 off 34) and Tristan Stubbs (60* off 47) steadied the innings with vital half-centuries. David Miller then made a significant contribution with an unbeaten 22 runs off 10 balls, dramatically finishing the chase with two sixes and a four in the final over, leading DC to 179/4 in 19.5 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was a standout performer for RCB, taking 3 wickets for 26 runs, including a triple strike during the powerplay. However, the team could not defend their total, allowing DC to rise to fourth place with this win.
