David Miller's Heroics Lead Delhi Capitals to Victory Over RCB in IPL 2026
Thrilling Finish at M Chinnaswamy Stadium
In a nail-biting encounter on April 18, the Delhi Capitals triumphed over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match 26 of the IPL 2026, held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Chasing a target of 176 runs, DC managed to secure the win with just one ball remaining and six wickets in hand. After a shaky start at 18/3 during the powerplay, thanks to an impressive bowling performance by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Capitals found their footing with significant contributions from KL Rahul (57 runs off 34 balls) and Tristan Stubbs (60 not out off 47 balls).
As the match reached its climax, DC needed 15 runs in the final over. Romario Shepherd was tasked with bowling, and Miller (22 not out off 10 balls) delivered a stunning finish, hitting two sixes and a four to clinch the victory.
Stubbs, named Player of the Match, praised Miller's performance, stating, “I told him (Miller) that I knew we would win, though I wasn’t sure how. Thankfully, David was there to finish it off.”
During the post-match interview, Stubbs reflected on his approach after coming in early at 18/3, saying, “I was ready in the change room, just focused on watching the ball. KL took most of the strike and built our momentum, which was crucial.”
Discussing the pitch conditions, the 25-year-old noted, “It wasn’t spinning much, but it was a bit slow, similar to what I’m used to back home. I kept thinking that if we hit three sixes, we’d be right back in it. Thankfully, we managed to pull through.”
