Miller Supports Kuldeep Amid Struggles

New Delhi [India] - As the Delhi Capitals prepare for their upcoming clash with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), batter David Miller has come forward to support Kuldeep Yadav, who has been facing challenges in his performance. Miller described Kuldeep as a "skilful" player and a potential "match-winner" despite his recent struggles.

After suffering four consecutive losses at home, the Capitals are eager to revive their playoff hopes against KKR, who have recently found their form with three straight victories following a six-match winless streak. Kuldeep's performance this IPL season has been less than stellar, with only seven wickets in ten matches, averaging 44.42 and an economy rate of 10.36, with his best figures being 2/31.

During a pre-match press conference, Miller reflected on his past encounters with Kuldeep, admitting he has always found it challenging to face him. "I've always played against Kuldeep and didn't enjoy facing him. Now that we're on the same team, he brings so much value. His character is vital, and he is indeed a match-winner. You have to accept the ups and downs," he stated.

Miller acknowledged that there have been games where Kuldeep hasn't performed at his best, but he emphasized that this is common for all players. He praised Kuldeep's preparation and readiness for competition, highlighting his skill set.

Addressing the team's fielding issues, which have included numerous dropped catches, Miller noted that the squad has been diligently working on their fielding skills during training sessions. "I love fielding. It's all about attitude. You need to want the ball and make a difference, whether it's a diving catch or a run-out opportunity. You have to stay engaged in the game," he explained.

He added that pinpointing the exact reasons for their fielding struggles can be difficult, as each player has different roles and experiences. Factors like lighting conditions could also play a part.

Miller concluded by stressing the importance of being fully prepared for their next four matches, as the Capitals currently hold the lowest catching efficiency in the tournament at 64.5 percent.

He also praised his South African teammate Tristan Stubbs, expressing confidence in his potential. "The sky is the limit for him. He is incredibly enthusiastic and competitive, even in casual situations. His youthful energy and consistency are impressive, and he possesses a wide range of shots, making him a valuable asset in T20 cricket," Miller remarked.

Stubbs has made a significant impact this season, scoring 257 runs in nine innings at an average of 51.40 and a strike rate of 136.70, including two half-centuries.
