Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India] - On May 3, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed his delight following the team's eight-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2026 encounter. He commended the efforts of pacer Anshul Kamboj and batter Kartik Sharma for their significant contributions.

CSK successfully chased down a target of 160 runs, after MI set a score of 159/7, bolstered by Naman Dhir's 57 runs and a quick 37 from Ryan Rickelton. The bowling attack of CSK, led by Anshul Kamboj with three wickets and Noor Ahmad with two, effectively restricted MI, particularly during the death overs.

In response, CSK faced an early setback with Sanju Samson dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. However, Urvil Patel's quick 24 runs, along with an unbeaten partnership of 98 runs between Ruturaj Gaikwad (67*) and Kartik Sharma (54*), ensured a comfortable win with 11 balls to spare.
