Cameron Green's Confidence Boosts KKR

New Delhi [India] - Cameron Green expressed his readiness to bowl four overs and his adaptability to bat in any position for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they aim to continue their winning streak in IPL 2026.

Thanks to Finn Allen's remarkable unbeaten century, KKR secured an eight-wicket victory over DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday. After a challenging start to the season with six consecutive losses, KKR has climbed to seventh place in the points standings.

In the match, Green claimed the wicket of Nitish Rana while bowling just one over and contributed 33 runs to help his team achieve victory.

Initially, Green did not bowl in the first two matches due to a lower-back injury management strategy, participating solely as a specialist batter. However, he returned to bowling in this match. During the post-match press conference, he discussed his bowling responsibilities and batting order, as well as the pressure associated with his auction price tag.

Regarding his bowling duties, Green stated, “I’m fully prepared to bowl four overs. Given our team composition, Anukul Roy has been outstanding, allowing me to bowl two or three overs, which has been incredibly beneficial.”

He added, “Having a left-arm all-rounder like Anukul to bowl in the middle overs allows me to focus on the power play and possibly the death overs. Our team has six bowlers to choose from, and Anukul and I support each other in completing our overs.”

In his third IPL season and first with KKR, Green has accumulated 232 runs and taken four wickets so far.

On the topic of his batting position, he mentioned, “Our team was working to find the right combination for batting order. It took us a few games to determine the best spots for everyone, but I believe we’ve reached a solid arrangement now.”

Acquired for Rs 25.20 crore in the auction, Green dismissed any notion of feeling pressured by his hefty price tag, attributing his comfort to the support from the franchise and coaching staff.

“I’ve never felt pressure from my teammates or coaches. They haven’t emphasized my price tag, which helps alleviate any stress. Having experienced this three times now, I’m quite accustomed to it,” Green concluded.
