IPL 2025: The Race for the Orange Cap Heats Up
IPL 2025 Approaches Its Final Stages
As IPL 2025 nears its conclusion, the playoff teams have been determined, and the competition for the Orange Cap is intensifying. Initially, five players were in contention for the coveted title, but now only two remain, both of whom have impressively crossed the 600-run mark this season.
Sai Sudharsan's Lead in the Orange Cap Race
Currently, Gujarat Titans have secured their place in the playoffs after defeating Delhi Capitals. They not only lead the table but also boast the top two run-scorers of the season. Sai Sudharsan has accumulated 617 runs, including a century and five fifties, across 12 matches, placing him at the forefront of the Orange Cap race.
Shubman Gill's Close Pursuit
The only player who can potentially snatch the Orange Cap from Sudharsan is his own captain, Shubman Gill. He is just 16 runs shy of Sudharsan, having scored 601 runs at an impressive average of 60.10 in 12 matches. Yashasvi Jaiswal trails behind Gill by 78 runs, making Gill the primary contender to take the lead.
Gujarat Titans' Dominance
Since the start of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans have performed like champions. Together, Gill and Sudharsan have amassed a remarkable total of 1,218 runs for the team, featuring one century and 11 half-centuries between them.
