IPL 2025 Enters Final Phase with Venue Adjustments

The Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) is approaching its concluding stages, and significant changes have been made regarding the locations for the Qualifiers, Eliminator, and Final. After a week-long suspension due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a revised schedule. Initially, six venues were designated for the remaining league matches, but persistent rain disruptions have compelled the BCCI to alter these plans.

Mullanpur to Host Key Playoff Matches

As reported by a leading news outlet, the New Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) in Mullanpur, which has already facilitated four league matches, will now be the venue for two crucial playoff games: Qualifier 1 on May 29 and the Eliminator on May 30.

Ahmedabad Set for Qualifier 2 and Final

Ahmedabad has been selected to host Qualifier 2 on June 1 and the Final on June 3. The team that loses in Qualifier 1 will compete against the winner of the Eliminator.

Reasons Behind Venue Changes

Originally, Hyderabad and Kolkata were slated to host the playoffs and the final. However, with the monsoon season approaching, concerns over weather disruptions prompted the IPL Governing Council to revise the venues to ensure uninterrupted matches. The decision was influenced by 'weather conditions and other logistical parameters,' as highlighted by a news report.
