Strengthening Expertise in Shooting Sports

The ISSF Electronic Scoring Target (EST) Course is currently taking place at the Crowne Plaza in New Delhi, running from August 10 to 14. This initiative is designed to enhance technical skills and cultivate a group of proficient EST officials in the realm of shooting sports.

Organized by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the five-day program features instruction from Jadranka Strukic from Croatia, alongside Robert Ferencak from Slovenia and Dhiraj Kumar Singh from India, as supporting instructors.

Participants from four nations, including India, Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia, are attending the course, which aims to improve their knowledge of electronic target systems and align with international match standards.

NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo expressed pride in hosting the ISSF EST Course, emphasizing the significance of technology in modern shooting sports. He noted, “Mastering Electronic Scoring Target systems ensures that our match administration consistently meets the highest global standards. India boasts the largest number of ISSF Judges and EST licence holders worldwide, showcasing our strong pool of qualified technical officials.”

NRAI Secretary General Pawankumar Singh highlighted the necessity of an EST licence for judges participating in international ISSF competitions, including World Cups and the Olympics. He stated, “We are implementing these exact standards in domestic events to provide our officials with more opportunities on the global stage.”

Singh also expressed gratitude to the ISSF, particularly President Luciano Rossi, for the opportunity to conduct the EST Course in India, acknowledging their ongoing support in enhancing the technical capabilities of officials in the sport.

As advanced electronic systems become increasingly prevalent in global shooting competitions, this course equips participants with specialized knowledge and hands-on experience in managing EST systems according to ISSF regulations.

This program is part of the continuous efforts by the ISSF and NRAI to foster regional knowledge sharing and ensure competitions are executed with utmost precision. The course will conclude on August 14 with formal assessments.
