Miami, May 25: In an exhilarating match, Inter Miami CF achieved a remarkable 6-4 comeback win over Philadelphia Union during the MLS regular season. The team showcased an impressive performance with Luis Suarez netting a hat-trick, German Berterame contributing two goals, and Rodrigo De Paul adding another, marking Miami's fourth consecutive victory before the FIFA World Cup 2026 break.
Philadelphia Union started strong, taking an early lead with goals in the 4th and 10th minutes.
Inter Miami responded quickly, with Berterame scoring in the 13th minute after receiving a precise assist from Messi inside the box. This marked Berterame's sixth goal of the season, while Messi recorded his seventh assist.
The visitors extended their lead with another goal in the 20th minute, making it 3-1.
Suarez then reduced the deficit to one in the 29th minute, scoring his fourth goal of the season with a stunning volley from a delivery by Fray, who provided his second assist of the league.
Miami equalized in the 42nd minute as Berterame scored his seventh goal and achieved his first brace for the club, thanks to a precise pass from Messi.
Just before halftime, in the 44th minute, Suarez scored again from close range after De Paul's initial shot was saved, giving Miami a 4-3 lead.
However, Philadelphia managed to equalize in the eighth minute of stoppage time, ending the first half at 4-4.
In the 81st minute, Inter Miami regained the lead when Berterame's shot was saved, but he assisted Suarez, who completed his hat-trick. Suarez now has six goals this season, while Berterame has four assists.
De Paul capped off the thrilling match with a goal in the third minute of stoppage time, finishing a counter-attack with a shot from the right side of the box, assisted by Silvetti. This brought De Paul's season total to four goals, with Silvetti providing his third assist.
The match concluded with a 6-4 score, securing Inter Miami's fourth straight win just before the FIFA World Cup 2026 break.
