Match Summary: India vs New Zealand T20I

Hamilton: Captain Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan found their rhythm with impressive half-centuries, yet New Zealand, spearheaded by pacer Adam Milne, restricted India to a modest total of 191 for eight in the concluding T20I on Sunday.

With a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, India experienced three distinct phases during their innings: a shaky start, a vigorous middle phase, and a lackluster finish.

Iyer (50 runs off 23 balls) and Kishan (61 runs off 32 balls) formed a crucial partnership of 107 runs in just over seven overs, significantly boosting India's middle-order performance.

Despite some assistance for the bowlers on the pitch, both Iyer and Kishan remained unfazed.

Kishan initially struggled, scoring only 13 runs off 11 balls, but quickly found his footing after hitting a boundary off pacer Nathan Smith and a six over point off Blair Tickner.

Iyer, who had previously scored his maiden T20I century against the West Indies, started strong with a six off Smith, showcasing a series of high-quality shots.

Off-spinner Michael Bracewell faced the brunt of Iyer's assault, conceding 6, 4, and 6 in succession, with the last six traveling an impressive 100 meters.

Kishan reached his fifty with a six off Bracewell, while Iyer, who was dropped on 40, soon followed, achieving his half-century with a four off Smith.

However, New Zealand made a comeback at this juncture, dismissing Kishan, who was caught at mid-wicket by Smith off Tickner in the 11th over.

In the 12th over, they also took down Iyer, whose ill-timed pull off Smith was caught by stumper Tim Seifert.

Following these dismissals, India struggled to maintain momentum, with Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir (who was dropped on 14), and Nitish Kumar Reddy failing to deliver significant contributions.

India could only muster 57 runs between the 14th and 20th overs, as Milne (4 wickets for 19 runs) continued to take wickets.

This performance echoed India's early struggles, losing openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson for a mere 19 runs within 3.1 overs.

Samson's consistency will be under scrutiny as India prepares for their next T20I series in December.
