The Indian Women's Kabaddi team has made history by winning the Women's Kabaddi World Cup in Dhaka, defeating Chinese Taipei 35-28. Sanju Devi emphasized the importance of teamwork and support among players, stating that women need opportunities to excel. This victory marks India's second consecutive title, showcasing their dominance in the sport. With a strong performance throughout the tournament, the team won all their matches, culminating in a significant win after a 13-year hiatus for the World Cup. Captain Ritu Negi expressed gratitude for the support received, highlighting the importance of this achievement for women's kabaddi.
 

Celebrating Victory at the Women's Kabaddi World Cup

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], November 27: Sanju Devi, a key player from the victorious Indian Women's Kabaddi team, highlighted that their success stemmed from mutual support and teamwork. She firmly believes that women simply require opportunities to shine in any domain.


The Indian women's kabaddi squad showcased exceptional skill, clinching the Women's Kabaddi World Cup in Dhaka by defeating Chinese Taipei with a score of 35-28 in the final match. This victory marks India's second consecutive World Cup title, reinforcing their dominance in the sport.


Sanju Devi expressed, "We were determined to claim this World Cup. Our unity and support for one another brought us here. Women are capable in every field; they just need the chance. I urge everyone to embrace the opportunity to represent our country and rise above minor challenges for the greater good."


Throughout the tournament, India displayed remarkable form, winning all their group stage matches. They advanced to the semi-finals, where they triumphed over Iran with a score of 33-21, securing their place in the final. Chinese Taipei also maintained an unbeaten streak in their group and defeated the host nation, Bangladesh, 25-18 in the semi-finals.


The tournament featured participation from 11 countries, highlighting the rapid expansion of women's kabaddi on a global scale.


Captain Ritu Negi and vice-captain Pushpa Rana expressed their elation after winning the Women's Kabaddi World Cup against Chinese Taipei. Ritu Negi extended her gratitude to supporters, emphasizing the significance of this victory, especially since the World Cup had not taken place in 13 years.


Ritu Negi stated, "I want to thank everyone for their support. We are thrilled to have won the World Cup. I also appreciate PM Modi for his encouragement. This World Cup was held after a long gap of 13 years, and we emerged victorious."
